Charly Gayden is an experienced
practitioner in the areas of family law and civil litigation at both
the trial and appellate levels.
She has served as an Assistant City Attorney and Municipal
Housing Prosecutor for the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey since
1998. In 2001, she
received certification as a Diplomat in Municipal Government Law
from the Bloustein School for Government Law at Rutgers University.
She is a former partner with the Princeton law firm of
Schatzman Baker. She
has extensive experience in the areas of prerogative writ
litigation, litigation involving municipal tax liens, in rem
tax foreclosures, and condemnation actions.
She has argued in both state and Federal courts on
constitutional issues arising from challenges to municipal
ordinances, and employment issues regarding public employees.
Through her association with the various county bar associations,
she has become involved in
the

Care@
volunteer program which provides pro bono legal services to county
residents. She is also
committed to empowering children through education and volunteers in
various
ALaw
Day@
programs at various high schools.
Recently she has become a board member of the Embrace Kids
Foundation, a charitable organization which brings together parents,
community leaders and concerned people to help provide services and
financial assistance to the families of children with cancer and
other blood disorders.
She is also a member of the board of trustees of the Accent
Community Development Corp., which serves charitable, educational
and social programs for children in Middlesex County.
